Between Elementor and WPBakery Page Builder, I'm getting a little confused when it comes to creating new page templates and trying to set them as default template for new podcast episodes.
Is this possible to do?
I've edited the existing podcast episode template (as you can see in this example), but I can't a way to have that the be default template. And currently I'd have to go into every single episode and make template changes this way.
I've also created a template from scratch in Elementor (see attached image), but again, not sure how to set it as the default template for new podcast episodes.
Basically my only options to set a new template within the Wordpress editor are:
Gotcha! You should not use both editor. I strongly recommend that you use only Elementor and deactivate WPBakery page builder. WPBakery is a plugin we still support but its going deprecated soon. Elementor is a lot better.
Im not quiet sure to understand your question correctly. From what I understand, you'd like to make a single episode template with Elementor and use it accross all your single page, correct? If so, you have 2 choices.
1) you can save and re-use any template in the Elementor library, and then when you create a new episode, import that template. see video:
2) You could use Elementor Pro (paid plugin), to build a Single Episode template dynamically with Elementor.
Yesterday I bought 'Anywhere Elementor Pro', and I'm using it to build single page templates that I'll use across all the podcast episode posts. Everything is working as it should, apart from one issue I've found.
The podcast/audio player content block can only be set to play either the last published episode (see attachment), or I have to choose a specific audio episode (see attachment).
I understand that by building a template, I'm building a structure that will be consistent across multiple pages, but in this instance I need the player to be dynamic and take its content from the audio file linked to in each post (see attachment)
Because as it stands, all 150+ episodes have to have the latest episode in the audio player, instead of playing the specific file within each episode.
Does that make sense? Is there anything that can be done in this regard?
what a timing ! Yesterday, we have released an update for full support for Elementor Pro. I have not tested Anywhere Elementor but we have fixed the player so the episode can automatically play the tracks of the single page. See screenshot here: https://d.pr/i/P6TDxG
As I said, we havent tested with Anywhere Elementor tho.
So make sure you are using the latest version of our theme (v4.1 or higher):
----------------------------------------------
V.4.1 - 2019.02.19
----------------------------------------------
- Now fully compatible with Elementor Pro Plugin (Header, Footer, Singles, Archives)!
- Added CastoPress theme demo for Elementor
- Updated Font Awesome icons library.
- Removed black default footer background
- Removed "Mailchimp for WP" as required plugin.
- Fixed single Playlist template margin-top
- Removed some unused WooCommerce CSS
And also that you use Elementor Sonaar Addon plugin v1.1. To update the plugin, make sure first the theme is up to date. Then go to wp-admin > plugins and delete 'Elementor Sonaar Addon'. Then go to wp-admin > appearance > install plugins and install the plugin again.
