YouTube videos not updating in Essential Grid unless cache is manually cleared

    Hey,

On my homepage I have an Essential Grid of recent YouTube uploads from my channel. The videos are imported using the Google Cloud API key, and my channel ID.

But my problem is that the grid only updates when I go into Ess Grid settings and clear the cache.

Is there a way to get this grid to update automatically once a video is published? I'm fairly confident everything is set up accordingly, but I think I need to change/reduce my cache amount.

My settings are in the attached picture.

    Hi Mat,

In Ess Grid Global Settings, there is an option to cache your grid. I set it off for you: https://d.pr/i/uT6fgg

So now, it wont cache the grid. however, there will always be a lag time between Google's API and your website I think...

But the setting that I've turned off is what you were looking for I think.

please try again and let me know

    Thanks,

    Thanks Maxime,

I'll wait until our next YouTube video is published on Wednesday and report back.

    Cheers!

    Hi!

Suddenly this Essential Grid is no longer showing new videos from the entire channel as it has been doing so for months.

Has there been an update or something you're aware of that might suddenly mean that channels videos aren't appearing on the grid? I've cleared the cache, made sure the API key is correct, etc.

I can set it to show new videos in specific playlists, but the 'stream' function no longer brings in new videos from the channel.

    Thanks!

    Mat

    Hey,

    It's thecomputergameshow.com.

The Essential Grid in question is on the homepage towards the bottom, and there's another one at https://www.thecomputergameshow.com/video.

    Thanks,

    Mat.

When did you uploaded the new video and whats the lifespan of the ess grid cache ?

Also, are you using your own YouTube API keys?

    Thanks,

It pulled in one from September 15th, failed to pull in one video that was published on September 18th, but did pull in this video from the same day.

Since then, it's failed to pull in videos from September 19th, and last night, the 22nd (although that's common as videos typically tend to take up to 48 hours before they can appear on the grid.)

I've cleared the cache multiple times including this morning.

In terms of the API keys, yeah I'm using my own.

For the /video page, I've kept the API key the same as I've always had, but I created a new one for the Videos grid on the homepage so I could compare and see if either of them started working.

Seems a cache issue. I clear your ess grid cache and I see your newest video: https://d.pr/i/GerrQY

I recommend perhaps that you check your YouTube API's limit / usage. Perhaps there is something wrong there as well.

    Thanks,

    Hey,

    Great, thanks for that!

Did you just clear the cache using the button on the source page? I've done that countless times but it's never had an effect. Strange.

Also, although it has pulled in more recent videos that weren't there previously, it's still missing one video, but that's not the end of the world.

    Mat.

Yes, I just cleared the cache from Ess Grid > choose your grid and click Settings > Source tab >  and click clear cache

    Thanks,
