I've recently started using WordPress and am using the Podcastr theme. Today I added a couple extra plugins and for whatever reason, all of my pages got erased. Is it not possible to use other plugins with this theme? And most importantly, how can I back up my site, in case something like this happens again? I'm aware that there are plugins for backing up WordPress sites, but now I'm hesitant to install and activate any plugins that did not come with the theme.

Feel free to install any plugins you'd like. they should work. However, we have not tested every plugins to be honest but most of them should perfectly work.
You need to manually submit that RSS feed to where you want to be published such as iTunes, Spotify, etc..It usually takes between 10 to 72 hours before being accepted.
You can check perhaps on Google on how to submit your podcast feed.
