    Hi, I have noticed that when I create a Podcast and upload the Featured image, when I DO NOT choose a SQUARE equal dimension image, the image is cropped from the Podcast in-page player and the footer player?

    Is there a way to make the image fill the square preview by using 'Cover' css or something similar. I have taken a look but can't figure it out yet.

    I'm sure that this would be useful for other people too.

    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi,

    Your image is not "cropped", it use the fullwidth of the image and resize it so it fits in the width space. your original image is http://wordpress-224129-884248.cloudwaysapps.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/ben-white-146950-unsplash-559x373.jpg

    see, it doesnt seem cropped.

    Unfortunately, Its not possible to make a square image from a rectangle image. I suggest that you upload a square image in the featured image. If you want to crop your rectangle image into a square one, use this tool: https://www.iloveimg.com/crop-image

    Hi Maxime. Yes I am sorry, I used the wrong phrase. I didn't mean that it had cropped the image, I meant that it did not automatically fill the square box. I tried to do this myself with the css class:

    object-fit: cover;

    taken from https://alligator.io/css/cropping-images-object-fit/

    I see that there is other css that will also fill the box whilst keeping the image in proportion, I just can't figure it out. I do not want the client to have to create square images all the time when it is possible somehow with css.

    Any other thoughts would be welcome :-)

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Unfortunately, you will have to add other custom css to make it work which is beyond the scope of our support.
