This means to have a list, not a grid, to display the episodes of a podcast show. I imagine that some sort of "design template" could be set with display options (# of episodes, colors, background, waveform, etc.).
In the end, the goal is to have the Elementor Module to create the list dinamically, in a simillar way that it does with the current Grid, but in a list similar to the manual way.
In my modest opinion, the "grid-only" option is too limited to compete with the embed players from other platforms, as: soundcloud, megaphone, spotify, etc. So, If you can create a new podcast module that displays the episodes of a show, in a list similar to any of those embeds, that would be awesome! =D
I totally hear you and I understand your point. Currently, we dont have this module available but its a very interesting ways to display podcasts. I will add this to our roadmap and im pretty sure we can come up with something soon (within 1 month).
This kind of list is currently made manually, but it would be awesome to have it as a model option at the Podcast Show's page setting. This option could be just above the "Host by" field, as a <radio> or <select> for us to select GRID or LIST. Optionally the number of episodes to load and the orderby (newset/oldest).
Even better if this settings could be set globally for default values, so those option could be defined at the theme's settings and overriden on each page as needed.
2. A module to list the Shows
Similar to the Shows Grid, I'd like to have a Shows List, using the same visual as before.
The goal here is to have the visual B at the page C
This current module (Grid) is still missing the option to set how many episoed to loa at fist (6 is the fixed number, right?). It would be great to have a setting to define how many shows to display, a specific number or ALL, additionally, an order (title, latest episode published, etc.) and orderby (ASC/DESC).
3. A module to list the latest episodes in the grid.
This theme is relativelly new but dedicated to podcasts (featured in several websites and it's marketplace). They have this simple module that only displays the Podcast art, an optional text and the list of "X" (let's say 5) latest episodes, with only the Title and episode number. Preety neat, uh?
Let me know if it would be possible to include any (or all) of those requests in yout roadmap. Thanks in advance!
In our last theme update (4.8), we have finally released a brand new Elementor widget called Podcast Archive. Have you played with this widget? It allows you to create podcast list.
To get the new widget, update your theme to 4.8 then go to plugin and delete the plugin Elementor Sonaar Addons.
Once its deleted, go to wp-admin > appearance > install plugins and install the Elementor Sonaar Addons again.
For your point #1:
You can embed a podcast widget by editing your show with elementor. However, I just noticed that it would be better if we add an option to select either to use a grid or list in there, as you mentioned it. We will work on this and release a theme update next week. The global option is already in wp-admin > theme options > podcast but its not currently connected with the CPT Show. we will do it in the next theme update.
For your point #2:
Use the new Podcast Widget.
For your point #3:
this is doable with the Podcast widget as well. its very flexible. For the photo representing your category, you can simply use an elementor image widget at the top of the widget.
