    Hello,

Went to customise the Podcastr Demo "Under Construction" page and found the invitation to subscribe to the website only seems to offer Mailchimp as a recipient of those email subscription emails. And I don't want that.

I looked for an edit option to remove Mailchimp and replace the subcription email destination (Mailchimp) for my own website email hosting service - but could find no way to do this. I have no interest in using Mailchimp so need you to advise me how to get Podcastr to direct subscription requests directly to an email account of my chosing.

Thank you for your past help to date.

    Gordon.

    Hi

We only have a widget for mailchimp newsletter.

I never tried a self-hosted mailing list system. Perhaps there are third party plugins that exist for that, but I don't know any im afraid.

Is there a particular reason why you want to host the email directly in your DB  instead of a mailing list service ? (For your info, I don't recommend to  send mass mailing using your own server. It might be quiet dangerous to get blacklisted by other ISP or even your own hosting provider at some point, even if you are not spamming. Make sure to read their terms of service. Im not an expert in mailing list but it's something I would avoid).

    Thanks,

    Hi Maxime,

    Thank you for your reply.

I wanted to do without a middle-man service initially while setting up and evolving my website; to guage interest before going for a Mailchimp like service if the numbers made it necessary. However, on trying to set up a Mailchimp account to have ready waiting in the wings I discover that their registration process finally hits you for your actual home address. That had me cancel out of the registration - for now at least. Sneaky of them, I thought, to tuck that 'requirement' away into the middle (or late) part of registration.

    Your advice, however,  was appreciated.

    Thanks again.

    Gordon.
