The Slider Revolution (SR) is bundled into my newly-purchased Magnetic theme and is out of date--which is a security issue. I notice that SR website says a license purchase is not needed because it should automatically update with the theme update. How to update? Why not automatically with theme?
I notice I actually Have Essential Grid installed with theme, and see the version (attached). Is this latest? Does this update with theme automatically? Do I need to care about SR being horribly out of date?
The new version of Revolution Slider has a bug that prevent us updating it for our user. In fact, it does not allow javascript in it, and we relay on Javascript calls to launch audio players and music sliders.
If you want, I can send you the new version but if you use play buttons in any of your sliders, those will stop working.
Revolution Sliders author are very aware of this issue and we are waiting after them since 3 months now. As soon as they will release a fix, we will do so. Same thing with Essential Grid.
Quick question: there is no security flaw right now in those updates (I dont really know why you mentionned that there was a security issue?). Is there any feature you are looking for that is not in your current plugin version?

Like any premium themes on the market, the premium plugins that come with the theme cannot be automatically updated and you don't have access to the plugin's author helpdesk. Every time a new version of the plugin is released, we (the theme author), need to carefully test the plugin and fix issues if any problem arises. Then, we release a theme update that will include the new version of the plugin. It's the way it works with every other themes that include these plugins.
Plugin activation & Licence keys: Sometimes, a plugin may ask for a Licence Key to "activate" it. Well, you don't need a licence key to activate or use the plugin! Licence Key is needed only to enable the automatic updates, access to premium support and some extra add-ons provided by the plugin's author.
If you are interested into automatic updates and premium support, we recommend that you buy a personal licence of the plugin on codecanyon.net
