I installed a demo theme (outlander) and, just as the help video says, everything was deleted. My question is; how can I start with a sonaar theme but retain my content such as logos, photos, videos, audio, etc.
What I always recommend when using a new WordPress theme is to develop the "new" website on a staging server with a fresh copy of WordPress. So start with a clean copy of WordPress, install the theme and its demo then, you could also export then import your old content data (ex: blog posts) of your old website onto your new website. By doing this, your existing website will continue to run, and you will have all the time you want to develop/design the new website on your staging server.
When you are ready to launch your new website, you will just have to point your domain name to the staging server so it becomes your new "live" server.
HI Maxime. I have a child set up and that is all good. I have been editing the home page and I Replaced the background image and headshot image. Now the main menu and logo have disappeared and I can't figure out how to get them to appear. How might I fix?
Is it okay to ask questions on this ticket, or should I open a new one, or use messenger? thanks! Jim
I also changed the background and layer of head shot on the main page, but can't recall how to edit the headshot. I made a jpg with a transparent background.
