I will be releasing and selling physical CDs starting in September. I assume I would set up WooCommerce shopping cart for that.
However, until then I need to make a digital download of the entire playlist available for promo purposes. There will be no cost for this download.
Should I set up Easy Digital Downloads now to handle the digital download of the full playlist...and then ADD WooCommerce LATER for the physical CD sales?
OR.....can I use WooCommerce to handle the digital downloads now and physical product later? that way....use just one plugin instead of two?
If you have nothing to sell right now, dont use WC or EDD..
If you want people to download your playlist for free, perhaps you can package it in a .zip and add a button somewhere that link to that zip file which will contains your tracks.
I'd like the user to be able to go to my new CD page, which contains the full play list, and either just play the playlist on the page and listen to the entire playlist, and/or click a button to download the playlist, in that song order.
It looks like I CAN use WC to process a downloadable product, and then when I get my physical CDs, I can change / add the download/physical settings in WC to include the physical product.
I can ALSO do the button to a zip file, but the point is to have the user go to the page, read the promo/info about the CD project, listen to it and then download it.
I'll try the different methods, thanks much for your help!
One more question: once I've created my playlist, and each single song has a download link, how do I create ONE download button for the user to download the entire playlist with all 12 songs, in order?

Otherwise, you can also use WC with downloadable product. More info here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/digital-downloadable-product-handling/

You can create a button below the player or add a link in the Album Store? see screenshot: https://d.pr/i/fAkU3A
