    Hi, 

    it would be nice if the Play Button change state in css so I can display a "playing" icon or something, which does not hide on mouseout. Is it possible with some JS?

    Yes this could be nice, but we didnt go that far with Essential Grid. 
    We cant guide you on this demand.
