Our Elementor Event widget does not have the option to display events by categories. It only have an option to display them by artists.
If you want to show events by category, you will need a third party plugin to display custom post type by categories such as JetEngine that is used to create your own listing/blocks.
If we receive more user request about this, we will add it to our roadmap for sure tho.
