Hi! I would like to be able to play mp3's from an absolute path on my server. Because when I am in the root directory nobody can enter the mp3 and download it. I use this on an other website with woocommerce as well. But I would like to be able to play the mp3's which are in my root in a folder "../folder_name" directory. I now can only UPLOAD a file in the media library but then people can just find it and download it with soms HTML knowledge. So, how can I change the upload file to entering an absolute path for the mp3 file?

    Hi,

From what I know, its not possible to hide the audio source from the DOM so any tech savvy user would be able to find out the source and download it. This goes for audio as well as for videos.

Every assets that is being to be used in the browser can be downloaded in certain ways. You can even download youtube video / soundcloud audio and even sound from youtube directly from the browser...

    Im sorry,

    Thanks,

    Hi Maxime,

I use an absolute path in woocommerce and the path is going to a folder BEFORE the httpdocs. That way no body is able to go to that directory. because it is "../downloads/andthefilename". This is the absolute path. Because it is before httpdocs, it is not accessible from the browser. This works like a charm! If sonaar.io would make it possible for me to not use media library files I upload but to put the absolute path in there, it would be great! Because then I can use the same folder to stream the files. So it is possible this way :)

    Thanks

    Kind regards,

    Roger

Hi, I tested it and it can not be done. It CAN be done to use Woocommerce and DOWNLOAD the file from an absolute path directly but you can not play the file from there. So case closed. Thanks for the help!
