Hi Max, thanks for helping me with my other issue the other day.
Another thing I noticed is that the music player playlist AutoPlay feature doesn't seem work in Chrome anymore, even if you 'interact with the page', such as click on link or something.
Not sure if this is also a cache issue. I disabled the Breeze cache plugin and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Also AutoPlay works fine in Edge, just not in Chrome.
Strangely, AutoPlay works in Chrome when you edit the page in Elementor. However, when you load the page normally/outside of Elementor, it doesn't seem to work.
Not sure how long it's been like this since I usually use Edge. It's just something I noticed the other day when we were troubleshooting the issue with Essential Grid.
Did Chrome have some sort of update that stopped AutoPlay from working in it?
it does work, but you have to interact with the document first which mean that before the player appear, you must either click in the page or scroll. Also, your browser must allow auto-play policy to be enabled for your website.
Auto-play audio when your page loads is now banned by most desktop and mobile browsers including Chrome and Safari. This is what we call a "Auto-Play Policy". To play audio in a web browser, the user has to interact with the page before audio can play. Interactions is something like clicking a menu, a button, scroll down the page, etc.
The closest thing you can do is to automatically fire the sticky footer player when the page load and then, users will have to click play. To do it, edit your page and select your playlist in the Music dropdown. See screenshot: https://d.pr/i/ouq7Ay
Ok, I will test it on another computer. It wasn't working in Chrome on my computer when I tested it after clicking around or scrolling. I have the auto-play enabled in Chrome though so I don't know why it doesn't work on my computer. What is strange is that it always works in Elementor when I edit the page but when I view it normally, Auto-Play doesn't seem to work.
I did your idea making the player appear at the bottom of the screen so people can manually click it.
