Hi i am trying to add google Analytics following googles prompts but its not working, these are the instructions given by google.
copy said code....... log into wordpress click appearance click theme editor click theme header enter your tracking tag in the code editor click test connection to make sure everything is set up
there dosnt seam to be a theme header, so i tried placing it in style.css , functions.php and sonaar-child-style.min.css but none of these worked.i also tired the custom css / js under theme options but still no luck.
dont add the code directly into the theme editor because every time you will update the theme, it will erase your GA code, unless you use a child theme but that's a bit more complex.

I recommend you add the GA code using the plugin "Insert Header and Footer" instead. see tutorial https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-header-and-footer-code-in-wordpress/
