I am trying to get the download button to appear at the end of each track as well as I wanted to do a full album link at the bottom - in the tutorial it sowed you could copy the link from the playlist to point back to - is this not correct and do you have to opt for open in a new window? I simply want to make each track downloadable and at the bottom the whole album.
I m not sure to understand well what you want. To add a download button at the end of each track, please edit your playlist and look for this part in the track section. And use the file url as the link url.
Hi - I see where you can add the download button on the mp3 playlist - but it doesn't show up in the widget on elementor - except when I select a Post Page (playlist source) drop down - the look I want is exactly like the first photo- super simple BUT with the download button on the end like the second example. Sorry new to this and just bought the pro which I'm not sure I need now but want to find the easist approach - I am not a coder and looking for very user friendly designing.

On this screenshot your are using "the widget" as the "playlist source" and you dont have the option to add download button.
And on this screenshot, you have selected "select post" and as you can see a download button is visible on the right side.
To add those button on a playlist, you have to edit the playlist post. Go to wp-admin>mp3 player>all playlist

Open the "External Links Buttons" panel
And select "hide heading"
