    Sonaar,

    I would like to make my own custom menu/navigation for my page and I've followed the instructional video for making a new menu, however the menu keeps defaulting to the theme's default menu and will not update to my customized menu.

    Hi Jesse, 

    Please go to wp-admin>templates
    Edit with Elementor editor the OffCanvas-cinematic
    Select the "Nav Menu" Element
    And select your the menu you have created https://d.pr/i/SPpWZZ

    Hi Alexander, thanks for your reply! I am also wondering if it's possible to customize the cinematic template so that it has a navigation bar across the top rather than the menu icon on the right?

    Hi Jesse, 

    Yes you can use the elementor editor to built the header as you want. 
    To do this, you have to create a new header through wp-admin>header & footer. 
    Go to wp-admin>theme options>menu options 
    And select the new elementor header you have built. 

    You can also, if you dont want to use elementor to built your header, select "classic menu" in the wp-admin>theme options>menu options
