In the "events" section, I've chosen "single event" page as the unique available. Currently I have no staged event, and I would like to have a blank page with the following text "There are no staged events at the moment".
The problem is that now it is set by default another event.
from what I understand, you just want a very regular page with the text There are no stage events..
If that's the case, i'd not overthink and go to WP-Admin > pages > Add new and add a new page then publish it. Then add this new page in your menu by going to wp-admin > appearance > menu.
