We've had a repeat issue with the carousel slider on our site. Currently our podcast episodes are pulled into the website from Buzzspout. Periodically the thumbnail for an episode will show up as the thumbnail in the carousel for several of the following episodes even tho we've loaded a different thumbnail images for those episodes into Buzzsprout. We had this issue on and off back when we used Podbean as well so it seems to be an issue with the template. Can you take a look and see if there is something we can do to fix this going forward? Below is a screen shot of the episode images in the carousel vs the images loaded into buzzsprout. Appreciate your help on this. Thank you.
All of our images have different file names when uploaded to any podcast host we use. This started when we were with Podbean and now it is continuing with Buzzsprout. This has to be an issue with the template itself. Something is happening when the rss feed gets pulled in for each new episode. We have researched this and spoken with you about this previously. It's hard to imagine our rss feed is causing all of this by itself. We switched to Buzzsprout mid-March. Please notice it was okay until Coversode #25, continues and then switches image issues with Coversode #27 (which is the correct image).
While we are trying to remain patient, this is the same thing you said when we had this issue with Podbean. We switched to Buzzsprout mid-March. Our images all have different file names because we interview different individuals with each episode. Something is happening when the rss feed (regardless of our hosting service) gets pulled into the website. Hence, it would seem the template for whatever reason is rewriting the image file name. We cannot impress upon you enough how frustrated we are becoming with this issue.
As you see, that image filename is named 60854458c4d1acdf4e1c2f79c4137142d85d78e379bdafbd69bd34c85f5819ad.jpg in your rss feed and is also found 27 other times in that rss feed.
WordPress cannot import image with the same filename twice.
Spotify works differently than WordPress. It's a complete different system.
You will need to reach buzzsprout to know how to give a unique filename to your episode images.

Hi,
What is your rss feed url?
Thanks,
Max from the Sonaar.io Crew
https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1957543.rss. If you're making changes, can we please get a detailed explanation of how it was fixed?
Hi,
If you check the RSS feed, you will see that all your episode images have the same filename. See screenshot: https://d.pr/i/3ZbmM3
WordPress cannot import different image that has the same filename.
Make sure to use different filename for each of your image episodes. You might have to check this with Buzzsprout directly.
Thanks,
Max from the Sonaar.io Crew

Hi Gabrielle,
I refer to your podcast RSS feed..As you can see on my screenshot, you see that the image file names from Buzzsprout has the same filename.
When we import new episode, if image file name from your RSS feed already exist in your media library, WordPress will not import it.
Thanks,

Max,
Closer inspection of the rss feed code image you provided shows information for older episodes than the currently ones we are referencing as well
What's the newest episode imported that does not have the correct image? Is the episode's image filename is duplicated in the rss feed?
Thanks,
Max from the Sonaar.io Crew
Coversode #28 Let It Be My Twilight dropped today without the correct image on the website. It's correct on Spotify
