    Hi,

    Hope you're well.

I purchased the Podcast Player WP Pro version and then I found your theme which was a favorite. It's really all we needed! Design, features, options... Honestly congratulations for the great work! :)

    However...

I asked the question before buying it to your support to know if the plugin was compatible. The support said yes.

I bought the theme and I installed the pro plugin in wordpress and... since then it's a mess. Your documentation is very poor, nowhere you mention Essential Grid or js snippets to integrate. My sticky player does not work as expected with my imported podcasts via the pro plugin instead of theme (like for example, I have to click twice on the play button to launch the episode and the title doesn't change between episodes... not great...)...

So, if I understand correctly the player integrated in the theme offers the same features as the plugin? So why didn't you specify this part ?

    Can you :

    1. Confirm me that the player in the theme contains the same features as the plugin in its pro version (except for ajax loading or cookies...)
    2. Provide me a more precise documentation on the use of the theme with all the details like the use of Essential Grid, the different snippets to integrate to make the buttons work, etc... because for the moment the documentation is very very poor for a premium theme...

    Thanks !

    Hello Kristina,

Sorry for the issue you have,

Yes the plugin is compatible with the theme.

There is a player built-in in the Theme, but its a basic one. The MP3 Audio Player Pro has much more features for Podcasting (since its news, we have not done a comparison chart yet. its on our todo list).

Could you please provide me access to your wp-admin and I will gladly check the issue you have and make sure everything works as expected.

    Thanks,

    Max from the Sonaar.io Crew

    Hi,

I have changed the JS call according to our MP3 Audio Player Pro JS API. Now it works. The AJAX Continuous Audio Player also works.

For the Podcast Show grid: With Essential Grid, you can only display posts in the grid. The Podcast Show is not a post type, its a taxonomy. You cannot display taxonomy items in Essential Grid. In this case, Essential Grid is displaying the posts that have the podcast show assigned.

If you don't have a lot of show, I recommend you create a show page manually. you will have much more control than using Essential Grid.

    Thanks,

    Hi Max,

thank you ! I will try it quickly and say if it’s ok ;)

about Essential grid, in your demo you jave this page : https://demo.sonaar.io/podcastr-elementor/shows-grid

When I look to the structure you assign with your theme a new podcast show to existing episode and then in the ess grid plugin you refer to this show. And it works.

but with the plugin you have also a podcast show section but it don’t have the same behavior like on your demo theme. I created manually a podcast show (l’interview) inside of the plugin and assigned 2 episodes to it. then I change the source in ess grid hoping that I will have the same result as your demo site… but it’s not possible. In the podcast show grid page I see the 2 episodes, instead of the cover and title from the freshly created show…

So how can I use the full power of your theme features ?? To have exactly the same options like your demo ? Actually I see only inconvenient of using the pro plugin with the theme…

  • Kristina replied

I’m sorry Max but it’s not working.. just compare the behavior of your demo site when you click on play btn on home page => the sticky player launch the episode and if you click once again in the same button, it stops.

in our case, we still have the conflict and the sticky player doesn’t react. Also the title of the episode doesn’t change.. I can’t stop playing if I click on rhe btn from the grid, I need to click on the sticky player to stop..

i think that simply your theme is not made to support the plugin. I steel have a lot of bugs.. the conflict still here…

can you give me the difference between the built-in player and the plugin player ?

because I sincerely thinks to delete the plugin. It causes a many issues And i think it asks a many efforts to make it fully compatible with the theme for accessing all features… :(

    am I right ?

    Hi,

Is there a particular/specific reason why you want to use mp3 audio player pro in first place?

If you check the theme demo, it does not use MP3 Audio Player Pro at all.

When people use mp3 audio player pro with our theme, it's because they have good reason to do it. Most of the time it's because there is a specific audio feature they want that the theme does not offer.

    Thanks,

    Max,

Firstly, I bought the pro plugin. Then I discovered your theme and asked the support via Messenger if they are compatible. In all marketplaces when you propose a theme and in the same time a pro version of the plugin it means that the pro version provides an upgrade of features for the theme.

the support answered that YES, the theme is compatible with the plugin. But it’s not.

i wanted to use the plugin because I bought it. And don’t want to waste my money.

now, I asked you to tell me exactly what are the mains differences between the built in player and the plugin… because no where on your site or documentation, I can find this information and in your first reply you tell me that is not actually exists…

    so, I want to :

    1. Import my existent RSS podcast feed

    2. Fetch and auto update the list episodes from Anchor

    3. Have a show page, episode listing, sticky player (exactly all you have in your theme demo)

    4. Add a links to specific parts of the podcast (or making a resume)

    Max,

I had a refund and my subscription canceled. Can you explain me the reason ?

    Hello Kristina,

I have issued a refund for the MP3 Audio Player Pro because you don't need it for the purpose of what you want to achieve right now.

Everything seems to work fine now.

The only issue remaining (and we have a developer investigating on that at the moment), is that you have 2 episode TITLE that contains an image (emoji) and it causes an issue with the track title not changing in the sticky player.

If you remove the emoji from your episode title, everything works as expected.

We will keep you posted as soon as we find the culprit for the episode titles that contain images in their title.

If you have additional questions, let me know,

    Thanks,

    Hello Max !

    Thank you for your assistance.

For now everything seems to be good :) I will be able to make my auto update URL like with the premium plugin, right ?

    Hi Max !

    Thanks ! :)

I tried the cron and it works great. But I have a little issue, and may be I’m doing something wrong.

so here my troubles and question :

    1. trouble : When I import the feed RSS and then I update something on Anchor and then I run the cron job to update the list, I have some episodes in double..

Is there a script for auto-updating the feed if an existing episode has changed ?

    2. Question : If I add some extra content in an imported episode, when the cron job will run, Does it simply update the existing episode (so the extra content is saved) or does it delete the existing one and import it again?

    thank you 🙏

    Hi,

Once the episode has been imported to your site, it won't be updated if you change something on the source site. This is because a lot of people want to add new / bonus content to the WordPress episode site and if the episodes were 100% identical, those would not be able to add content or modify the Wordpress site.

    Thanks,
