The continuous playing using cookies of a playlist does not work. As I understand, when a user leaves the page and returns, the player should remember the position and restart playing from that position.
So, when the page is reloaded, it goes back to the beginning.
Yes, the continuous player only works with sticky. This is because the user must have the option to pause/stop the audio when they switch to any secondary pages. If no player where presents on a page, that would very stressful to stop the audio without having the ability to do so.
As I explained, I don’t need the user to continue listening while changing pages. I just need the player to remember the position of the played track when the user comes back to the same page.
Is there a solution for that without using the sticky player? If no, I think it would be a good feature to add, especially for audiobooks. A user could listen to multiple audiobooks in parallel. He would start listening to an audiobook, decide to switch to another one and come back to the first to continue listening from where he stopped.
It then would be great if there was a cookie that stored the time for each widget player. The sticky would play the last track that was played.
Unfortunately, as much as I would love to help you, this feature is not possible with Sonaar at the moment.
On my end, I tagged this ticket as a feature request so that our development team can consider this option, but this doesn't guarantee that Sonaar will indeed implement this feature.
Finally, I would like to apologize for not providing you with this particular feature at the moment.
I used the sticky player as it is the only solution to remember the position of the played track.
But I noticed what seems like a bug:
As expected, the widget and the sticky players are synchronized when a track is played. When I reload the page and click the play button on the widget player, the position goes back to where the user stopped listening. But that only works for the first track. If the user was playing another track, it goes back to the beginning of the first track. That behavior is only seen when the widget player is clicked, it works well with the sticky player play button.

L'option du "continuous player" a été pensée pour permettre la lecture continue du fichier audio lors de la navigation au travers des pages du site. Ça n'a pas été pensé pour servir de signet à un livre audio. Cependant, nous avons bien saisi ce que vous voulez. Et nous avons d'autres clients qui utilisent notre plugin pour des livres audios. C'est pour ça qu'il est possible que nous développons ce que vous demandez un jour.
On a cependant une option qui pourrait vous intéresser. Vous le savez peut-être déjà, mais on a développé la possibilité d'ajouter des liens pour sauter à un temps spécifique sur la piste audio. Un Time Stamp. Ce feature a été pensé pour des livres audios. Voir le shortcode [sonaar_ts]
