Reducing Playback Speed

    Hello,

We are mostly using the MP3 player to play back recorded lectures, not music. It is possible to speed up playback in several steps, but slowing it down offers only a 0.5 step. When playing back a voice track, this is a severe reduction.
My client has asked if it would be possible to offer several, smaller steps to slow down playback, such as 0.9, 0.8, 0.7 or perhaps by using a slider. Most of our visitors are seniors. If they can't keep up with the normal speed, they can't switch to half speed because playback becomes unintelligible. Thanks for your help.

    Hello Robert,

Unfortunately, as much as I would love to help you, this feature is not possible with Sonaar at the moment.

On my end, I tagged this ticket as a feature request so that our development team can consider this option, but this doesn't guarantee that Sonaar will indeed implement this feature.

Do you have example/reference of website that offer playback speed control with smaller steps?

    Thanks,

    Max from the Sonaar.io Crew

    Max,
    Thanks for your quick reply.

Yes, I do have an example. The WonderPlugin WP Audio Player offers exactly what I am looking for. The link below includes a demo where a slider can be used to vary playback speed in 0.1 steps all the way from 0.1x through 1.0 to 5x.

I think that adding this enhancement to the Sonaar player, especially in the form of a pop-up slider, would be a tremendous benefit for all users.
