Icon button for fly-out menu

I've been having this problem for a while and even asked Elementor for help regarding the fly-out menu not working. It works the first time and sometimes up to 3 times, but eventually, the hamburger icon just won't open after navigating to other pages.

I used an icon for the button to trigger the fly-out menu and I'm wondering if having the hotlink icons and the shopping cart icon in the navbar as well is the issue. I don't really want to disable those items, though, especially the shopping cart icon.

Elementor wrote back to me back in March and they said:

"I think I found what is causing the issues with the Nav menu. The theme you are using (Sonaar) is the problem and blocks some JS files to execute. I've temporarily changed the theme to Hello and everything is working fine.

The issue with iOS is fixed in v.3.6.5 https://elementor.com/pro/changelog/

So, I can suggest contacting the theme developer and asking to fix the compatibility issue with the Elementor.

Please, check this short Loom video of the testing."

The issue was not only with iOS, though, and it persists on desktop, too.

At the time I did roll back to 3.6.2, and it worked but that version is too old, now. I finally had to update, and now, it's broken again and Elementor's roll-back tool won't even let me roll back.

Please advise as having a navigation is important.

Also, I do have the support for Font Awesome 4 turned on.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

In most cases, the issue is related to one of the third-party plugins which are not compatible with AJAX page loading.

Please read this article on how to troubleshoot and workarounds.

    Thanks,

I did the troubleshooting and turned off everything except Elementor/Pro + the Sonaar theme. There was nothing else and the icon "button" doesn't work.

The workarounds don't make sense for my site as the only reason I bought the theme was to get the sticky player. There are no other plugins to reinit since they are not an issue.

    Hi,

The widget you are using is not compatible with AJAX page loading. If you want to use our theme/continuous playback, you should use our off-canvas widget instead which will allow you to do the same kind of fly-out off-canvas menu, AND is compatible with ajax.

To learn more on headers, menu, mobile menu editing with Elementor, see this article

Thanks for the info. I wish my site looked like the instructions. I don't have an Off-Canvas template to pick from. I can't even make a new one as the option for the side menu template doesn't exist. I used a pop-up template, originally. That's not even an option but it would be nice to be able to just use that. How do you even select the menu?

    Wordpress 6.1.1
    Elementor/Pro 3.9.2
    Sonaar 4.22.1

    Best,

    Hi,

You need to create or choose a template here: https://drops.sonaar.io/i/RjMWwU

Once your template is setup, you can assign it to the offcanvas widget: https://drops.sonaar.io/i/9SmidN and it will be displayed as an offcanvas template.

    Thanks,

Interesting. I do have a template already made using the Elementor Pop-up element, as you're supposed to do when making an offcanvas menu. Why can't I choose the Popup template that I already made? I wish you could make that an option since the styling options for popups give me the ability to position it to the right.

Anyway, so I made a new template and it's showing in the Templates menu, but when I go to choose it in the OffCanvas element, it's not there. Do I need to save the template in a certain way?

It needs to be a page template, not an header template

Oh. I wished that were in your instructions. You really do need to spell out every step.

I'm making progress, but clicking the menu button opens another Hamburger button on top of the one in the menu bar. It's like a floating mini menu. Also, I get a flash on page reload showing the white menu hamburger and 'X' button.

Also, why can't I change the color of the hamburger button. I used the settings to change the resting/active colors in the editor, but it's not changing.

I'd like to get rid of the word, "MENU", too.

    See pics.

I should have added this screenshot of the 2nd floating menu.

    Hi,

Please check now. Its because your off canvas template had a hamburger menu set. I switched it to a vertical menu instead. see screenshot: https://drops.sonaar.io/i/kfdZwB
