How to I designate events as, past or up coming, so they populated correctly? See attached. Past and up coming events are post in both past and up coming sections.

Note: Found the solution. I needed to change the duplicate set to past and the original set to upcoming. I had been doing this yet it wasn't changing. I shut the computer off came back redid this and bingo it worked.
Events use the publishing date as the event date. Therefore, you need to set up an event post with a future publishing date for it to appear in the list of upcoming events.
If you do this and it doesn't work, please share access to the wp-admin with me.
